As a fresh transplant to Brooklyn in 2012, Oleh Zaychenko - AKA Bring Prudence - found himself without his band or his friends - just an obsolete laptop. “Grad school wasn’t going the way I’d imagined”, he says, “what better way to escape than getting abducted?”

On Aliens, the follow-up to his debut Engineers, Zaychenko hones his trademark blend of sweeping melodies and confessional songwriting. Aliens masterfully balances complexity and accessibility, revealing subtler and darker textures with each listen.

The eponymous single premiered on 89.3 The Current in the winter of 2012 and has been featured on the Local Current Blog. The entirety of the album was recorded in a makeshift home studio but was never played live because Zaychenko could not afford a new laptop at that time. “In a way”, he says, “this album was made possible by the divine miracle of student loans”.
